Prof. Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha

A professor of Ethnobotany/Ethnomedicine and Ethnopharmacology

Prof. Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha is Ugandan Professor born on 5th May, 1970, married to Dr. Balaam Mugisha and a mother of four children.

Her expertise lies in Medical Ethnobotany/Ethnomedicine and Natural Resources Management, with a focus on product development and value addition. She has experience in numerous research and product development methods, as well as problem-solving, critical thinking, and traceability. She believes in student and staff involvement in my work and value the input of others.

As a strategic thinker and planner, she has been involved in public-private partnerships, community involvement, and exhibitions. She also has experience in budgeting, budget optimization, resource mobilization, fundraising, financial management, and policy review.

Her experience working with numerous policy frameworks in Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Local Governments (MDAs & LGs) in Uganda and regional networks has given her valuable insight into the complexities of policy-making and implementation. She has established MOUs, links, and networks due to her outgoing personality and have skills in project proposal writing, coordinating teams for writing, and tracking.

She is the current Chairperson Council, Kampala International University (KIU); Executive Director, Mamita Technical and Business Management Institute and the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Bishop Stuart University
